The Department of Surgery offers advanced (fellowship) training in breast, cardiac, colorectal, hepatobiliary-pancreatic, minimally invasive, pediatric, thoracic, transplant and vascular surgery as well as surgical critical care. These programs, which are intended to prepare trainees for academic leadership positions, include clinical, investigative and administrative components. The curriculum fulfills the experience requirements established by the American Board of Surgery for added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care and in Vascular Surgery and those set by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery for certification in Colorectal Surgery.
